It Chapter Two

This movie sucked, which sucks. It’s kinda just… the same emotional journey as the first movie, except they learn the lesson that Bully Works in the end. Random gay hate crime in the beginning? And then the movie goes BECAUSE RICHIE IS GAY AND WAS IN LOVE WITH HIS BEST FRIEND BUT HE NEVER ACTUALLY TELLS ANYONE THAT SO IT SORT HAD MINIMAL PLOT IMPACT ACTually? The child actors just absolutely lap every one of the adult actors. I genuinely don’t know how it is that the literal children from the first movie were more lived in, charismatic, and important to the story then any of the adult actors. Like, Bill Hadar is so good, but he couldn’t save that writing. All of the depth of these characters in their childhood has been watered down, and the adult versions feel like caricatures of themselves. Part of its writing, but there were also a handful of casting misses. Like James McAvoy as Bill was such an odd choice to me.  And the woman playing adult Bev, has not even a little bit the stage presence Sophia Lillis did.
