Materialists

The movie is about exactly what it says it’s about: materialism in the dating scene, and ultimately finding joy and fulfillment from a life well lived instead of money and all that. It was an enjoyable watch! Nothing life changing, but good! I really do love Celine Song’s style and tone— I would love to see her tackle something besides romance, personally. Or at least something different then “past lovers look longingly at each other over sparse dialogue while worldly realities keep them separate”. Don’t get me wrong, I love that, but I do think Past Lives did the same thing and ultimately did it a lot better.
