Lessons in Chemistry
In the first episode, there's a foreshadowing of something that it's gonna happen to one of the characters that it was so obvious to me (mind you, I've seen way too many shows and movies in my short life) that, when it came to happen I was equal parts amused and enraged with myself for calling it 😅😅
I think this was a really good role for Brie Larson, someone that ever since she's been in the MCU - and after the press tours for Captain Marvel and other projects, people have deemed her "cold, snobby and stuckup" (which I find it rather unfair). I've seen her in several other projects outside the MCU and I think this is one of my favorites. Of course, I also love a period piece based in the 50s-60s revolving around women being great at what they do but still having to proof themselves to the awfully sexist male pricks around them.
Even though this doesn't reinvent the wheel when it comes to themes or subject matter, it's quite charming and really well made - the production design and costumes are immaculate. I'll recommend it but, bring tissues.
Also, it made me want to be a chemist... Oh, wait, I am already a chemist 😆😆😆
