"I raised a murderer"
I never got to think about the parents of the perpetrators. They're also victims, especially the mothers, because we always tend to judge them first. Ann Dowd deserves to be recognize not only because her performance is so heartfelt and gut-punching but also because it show me (in a way) the other side, these people who make these heinous acts have a family that mourns them and cries for them. Mothers who still love them, no matter what. Fathers that cry them and wish to turn back the clock and re-do things.
Being a parent is an awful job and many of them don't know what they're doing, they just have to follow their instincts and hope for the best. Not every child is the same, even if you feel something might be wrong with your child you don't want to believe it because they're yours, they're perfect in your eyes, they're still that beautiful baby. We must be kinder to one and other because we're all just winging it out here and we all have our own struggle to face.
Powerful film.
