Banana Fish
why would i put myself through this again? i mean, i did. i am actually so pleased that my friend recommended me this masterpiece two summers ago, because it has become something that, apart from sadness, it also brings me warm and happy feelings. and now, i rewatched it. fucking hell.
between these two times i've watched it, i have developed an unhealthy obsession with river phoenix, and knowing that our dear ash linx is based on him is such another level of pain.
i have so many thoughts about this that i can't even bring myself to write them down. just the unfairness of all; the evil actions, all the lives that were put down, the constant revenge and hatred... i would say this series is tiring because a problem causes another one, even bigger, and it doesn't stop until the very end, but, regardless, i would recommend it to every single person in the world (well... there are some tw).
i like to think that the ending is misleading (even though it's confirmed in the manga), that he is injured, he passed out, but he is there. and eiji and him will see each other again. and he will go to japan. and he will be loved and safe. and nobody will touch him again.
