Forrest Gump
“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.”
OMG, this movie was really funny! I honestly think it might be one of the most unpredictable movies I’ve ever seen, no doubt about it. The amazing journey we get to experience with him
The movie also connects to the Cold War in several ways, especially through Forrest’s experiences in the Vietnam War. His time in Vietnam shows how young Americans were sent into a confusing and dangerous conflict that was part of the larger tension between the United States and communism.
At the same time, Forrest’s relationship with Jenny represents a different side of American society during this period. While Forrest lives a simple and honest life, Jenny struggles with the changing culture of the 1960s and 70s, including rebellion, drugs, and searching for identity. Their relationship shows the contrast between stability and chaos, and how people were affected differently during that time.
My teacher showed us this movie in class, and I don’t regret it at all. Thank you, Leif!
