"if you can enjoy the presence of a cat, a bird, a flower, what can i say, all the world will be yours"
wow. what an incredible movie. this was more amazing than words can describe. i was laughing, smiling, and crying. (there wasn't even anything that said i just get emotional about cats)
a profile of people and cats. pure cinema bro!! the amount of stories we get to hear and see about people and their cats that randomly selected them has truly awestruck me. the street cats of istanbul mean so much to the people, its extremely heartwarming. they're cared for like the peoples children. its so wholesome to see good people who treat animals well, and this movie did a great job ar capturing exactly that. the love of animals is truly a different kind of love, people who dont love animals dont love people either.
the cats and their individual stories was the best part of this movie. theres this stereotype that cats are all the same, fiesty and kind of chill creatures. but this movie proves that wrong. numerous people throughout the film all agree on the fact that each cat has its own character, their own personality. theres this one cat - gamsiz, it means carefree. his main human described him as "the guy youd want to go out with to have fun at night"
theres another cat, "fishermans friend" whos described as "the toughest of all the females, trouble for all the fishermen. arch enemy of the dogs. the neighborhood psychopath" i find it so intriguing how all the cats captured are so different and like their own little people. its very fascinating.
having been to instanbul myself and experiencing the cats first hand, albeit just for a week. i can only imagine how much the street cats mean to these people. they've saved them in a way.
a man told a story about when he was poor and needed money to pay for his boat, a cat led him to a wallet containing 120 liras. thats when he started caring for animals. what a beautiful story. he said "god brings us closer to him in different ways, for me it was these cats. i guess i was worthy of his love."
in islam, cats are seen as a sacred and clean animal. our prophet valued and took care of cats too. "It is said that cats are aware of God's existence... but that dogs are not. Dogs think people are God, but cats don't. Cats know that people act as middlemen to God's will. know better. They're not ungrateful, they just know better." an amazing way of describing cats and their connection to god, it makes me value them even more.
all in all, after watching this, its made me realize cats are very peculiar but amazing creatures. and they sure are better than humans.

"cats are satisfied with their existence. And they're very sure of their character. but it's not enough for us. we always want more. that mentality poisons us and destroys everything."**
