i don't blame everyone for being head over heels for sophie thatcher

i just watched this for julia roberts I don't give a gaf

so ass, the dialogue is flat, nothing is funny, everything is ugly, music is shit, everything is boring, romantic interest is ugly. not even meryl streep, gaga, a björk shirt, or a caleb hearon cameo could fix it

so I hate british humour usually but I was cackling my ass off at this one and bridget is a fucking icon. awesome movie however I had pent up resentment for Darcy from the start, and it doesn't help that this grasped at so much to portray a pride and prejudice kind of dynamic to the point where they literally had to slap the name Darcy in there to prove a point? another thing is: yes I love pride and prejudice it's a masterpiece in both adaptations and the book, but I'm developing an animosity for the trope where the cool chill outgoing hot guy turns out to be a villain, and the rude insensitive jerk who later turns out to be a bit less of a jerk is suddenly misunderstood and romantic! like I can't lie I was twirling my hair and shit but that's just something I've been thinking andhow in the world was bridget considered fat
