Sentimental Value

such a powerful reflection on relationships, growing up, growing together and growing apart. another great film where the house is a paid actor.  casting his daughter as a plot to reconcile their relationship is amazing. it made me think that sometimes art can be a form of abandonment and unification at the same time. he used exactly what drove him apart from his family to bring it back together.  broke my heart when they remodeled the house but it made so much sense. it contained so much sentimental value (no pun intended) that was holding their relationship down for so many years.
