Beautiful film with beautiful symbolisms and references. At first it was very difficult to understand everything, especially the ending; but after doing more research (Lucas Blue’s video!), everything came together. Having background information on William Burroughs life is really important. Lee’s research on telepathy and communication without words is fueled by his desire to connect with Allerton, because they will never be able to truly connect otherwise. They’re bound by self-hatred and fear, which causes them to never be in sync, forever stuck in a push-pull cycle. Even after having taken the yage, they’re scared pursue what this might mean and ultimately break paths forever. I loved the cinematography and the acting!
