louis theroux’s wry smile at the camera

looove the concept of sound as the main feature, and the sound design of this film rocks. seeing this in theaters was tense and fun, but i know i wouldn’t be able to keep my grubby little fingers off my phone if i saw it at home, so the tension would be lost for me in that setting. unfortunately, lots of plot points didn’t fully tie together and feel a little superficial or silly, and one of the main aspects of plot (without a spoiler: the “curse” put on mothers) was oddly disturbing without rationale or explicit awareness.
