believe it or not i have never experienced the story of frankenstein and im glad i got to experience this version first. the visuals are stunning, the set design is beautiful, and the acting fucks HARD. jacob elordi and oscar issac killed it in this. victors inability to emotionally connect with the creature until the end of his life was really heartbreaking because if he just let himself feel really FEEL something then maybe both their lives would have been better but that’s too much to ask of some people 😛

honestly would have loved way more it if it was just keanu and seth rogen living their lives but i still had fun, very heartwarming.

i’m not good at explaining how i feel about a movie but i’ll try. ethan hawke gave probably the best performance ive ever seen in a movie (to be fair i haven’t seen many movies) this movie would not have worked without him giving his all for the whole 100 minutes. on the other hand you don’t get that performance out of him without the insane script, i mean every word had meaning and i felt like i was in that bar with them. i am going to learn the history of musical theatre then ill watch it again to appreciate all the references

VERY derivative but it’s fun and the first 20 minutes were genuinely great, i can’t wait to see him grow as a filmmaker in the future
