28 Days Later
28 Days Later just became by favourite zombie movie of all time, what the hell. I didn't think I would love it this much because I think that zombie movies are the most overrated type of horror Iv'e seen, but it makes sense why this film revolutionized zombie films. The characters are absolutely amazing, their relationships with one another is so compelling and well written. The zombies looked genuinely scary and the fact that they can run so fucking fast, is what terrified me. The realism is so good. It's so unsettling seeing the whole city silent and being the only person there. I love that Jim and Selena are basically two opposite people that everyone has to be one of them; a type of person being "every man for themselves" or "sticking together at all cost". It's crazy how I was so connected with the characters, since I rarely do it zombie movies. Once I saw someone got bitten, I always did a audible gasp. These zombies are alot more scarier than any other zombie in other films. These ones sprint, detects people easily, and spits blood to quickly infect a person. The character development was really great. I liked how we perceive Selena as a very rough, insensitive, harsh baddie but later we see her be more caring and actually have sympathy for the loss of others. I loved the consistency and pacing of this film, it keeps you engaged the whole time and never once have I felt bored. It honestly felt like this film was only 30 mins, not 2 hours, that's how much it captivated me. I watched this cause 28 Years Later (2025) is about to come out and I need to watch the rest to have some knowledge of this apocalyptic world and how it started. 28 Days Later is such a realistic, captivating, emotional zombie film that I personally would say is the best but it's my own opinion :D
