Beautiful Boy
Burnout Film #5: Beautiful Boy
Omg, I can't watch this shit again, this is too sad and depressing. Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet give such an incredible performance, he deserved that award. The story is beautiful and captivating, I can really connect with how hard it is to fight an addiction towards these characters. The audience is able to sympathize with the struggle of letting go with addiction, going back and forth with being sober and using again is so heartbreaking to see. It's realistic how a year of being sober doesn't mean that your cured, it can still comeback. The relationship of the father and son was so real and just fucking miserable, It's hard to see the father do so much but feeling ashamed the he can't do enough for his own son's choice of using. The transitions between the past and present were outstanding, it provides more bonding time for the father-son's relationship so the audience can realize how Nic isn't the same as he was after his addiction. I'm obsessed with how realistic and honest this film is, not exactly being able to help someone completely unless they do so willingly. It's such an awakening movie that will definitely give you a different perspective in people who are dealing with addiction. Beautiful Boy is a gripping masterpiece that anyone who has similar experiences with this, needs to watch it immediately
