I've never found a film that resonated with me so much in the sense that it's a similar experience I had. Ngl, I was already tearing up in the first 10 minutes for how much already related to it. Eden Dambrine and Gustav De Waele gave phenomenal performances and had a beautiful dynamic. Loved that it's based off of Lukas Dhont's real story because I can tell how much it means to him. The way that Dhont is able to connect the audience in the most authentic and realistic way is what made me feel such a special connection with this film. It goes to show how there doesn't have to be a fast-paced, exciting story just to grasp the emotions of people. I can tell how genuine the story is through it's portrayal of friendship. It's incredibly extraordinary that is easily relates to the audience that has been through the same thing. When I first heard about this film, I knew I was gonna fucking cry and was scared to watch it as I knew how much it'll resemble me. The yellow color grading was smart as it represents a childlike visionary. The ending was heart-breaking and gut-wrenching, I sat for 10 minutes processing my feelings. I highly recommend this to anyone who has either lost someone they loved or just a general friendship that means alot to them. Close is a captivating, sensitive, honest film that'll make bestfriends scared for each other
