Dancer in the Dark
This is my 4th time being traumatized by Lars von Trier and ngl, this is probably the one that emotionally traumatized me the most out of any other film I've seen. FUCK YOU TRIER, I WISH I NEVER SAW THIS. This is a film I wish I would've saved as my last one before I die (if ykyk). I don't know what to say because I'm just in pure terror and shock that I can't comprehend my thoughts anymore and this shit it just gonna start haunting me. When the main character said "I leave before the second last song so it never ends", that was my cue to leave before the ending and I didn't listen. Björk has an incredible voice and her mellow, deep tone complement well with how tragic the story is. The musical score wasn't too great but it adds on to how reality isn't exactly as perfect as musicals show them to be. The main character even states how she day dreams about being in the musical as it's portrayed more of a wishful reality without problems. That ending... I was not prepared for that shit and I kept of pausing it because I couldn't take it anymore. Dancer in the Dark is a depressing, shocking, tragic masterpiece that'll make people scared of living with Caucasians
