Freaks
This film hit me at an emotional level, holy crap. Why is it always these black and white movies make me feel personally attacked. Freaks is such a disturbing and depressing watch about people with disabilities being made fun of and being used for their wealth as they make good money from circuses. This movie is so sick because of how the "normal" sized people act, they make me so fucking mad, I was ready to fight that one dude that made fun of the main character. At first, I thought they were kids that were talking funny, It took me a minute to realize that they were all adults and felt guilty about it and I started to understand why everyone made fun of them. I enjoyed Venus's character that she supported Frieda through her hardships, just not the fact the she's a gold digger, (well every non-dwarf wife in this film apparently are). The storyline was fucking phenomenal and the acting was amazing. I really felt sorry for everyone that was treated unfairly and wanted all of them to burn for how they made fun of them. The climax was engaging and well-done. The ending is what I hoped for and I'm glad it turned out that way. The plot-twist was crazy, I literally jumped out of my chair. I couldn't understand why people was so disturbed by this film until I watched it. Freaks just hurts you so much in a emotional level and aggravates you for how people treat disabilities. The only thing I would criticize was the fight scene between Phroso and Hercules, the choreography wasn't executed well for when their punching each other, their fists barely touched each other's faces. Although, I do realize that this film is in 1932 and Iv'e seen some fight scenes in different movies of that era, they all have this thing were they fight each other without even looking like they are, so It's mostly just based on my opinion that it isn't of its time. Loved this movie so much, never have I felt emotionally attacked by white rich people.
