Moonlight
I have to rewatch this, to preface for most of the first act I was distracted by something else, but I sat down to watch it for the rest. I feel so odd about this film, I haven't felt this way about a film in such a long time.
I'm at a loss for words, how do I describe what I just saw? It was so raw it felt as if every emotion came through like a fine tune, the protagonist was so mesmerizing and so unique to watch. The 3 actors played the character incredibly.
Every scene had me contemplating in a logical and emotional sense. I couldn't stop thinking about how this is changing the narrative or the protagonist and how it played into the overall feel and vibe. This whole film has me feeling in a state of perplexity and awe, just jaw-dropping.
I remember thinking, "How in the world will they conclude this". When it finally ended it surprised me, never had I seen a film where it felt as if it ended inconclusively but in retrospect there's no other better ending I could have asked for, as abrupt as the ending was It completed the character arc for me.
Chiron is a real human, he is abused and hurt but he is taught to love others even if it means neglecting himself. it is only at the end that he finally embraces who he is, and he finally learns to love himself.
I can't do this film justice in my wording. :P
