Apocalypse Now
94/100
No words. Both a war film and a psychological masterpiece, this has everything you need. From the score to the crazy shots to the almost lucid ending, it portrays war in a new light. It’s not some cheesy feel-good story. It’s a commentary on the war but also the POV of a man broken by its horrors. My favorite aspect was Willard’s slow realization that he both relates to and behaves like Kurtz. It also begs the question: should we throw morality out of the window for the sake of victory?
