BUTTY
Butty, a small, clumsy household robot who longs for freedom, still does his best. This film is only 7 minutes long, it feels like 3. It is so beautifully animated, funny, somehow sweet, at the same time totally sad to watch.
When the film ends, you think, there has to be more, that can’t have been 7 minutes. And you actually want to see more. It feels like the perfect introduction to a Pixar movie. I believe that’s kind of exactly what it’s meant to be.
The backstory of this short film is btw. also absolutely crazy. An American simply stole the film, sent it to film festivals, won awards with it. A great short film.
