Luca Guadagnino cooked with the way he filmed the tennis matches. He uses angles you would never see in a regular match which made it unique. The score and performances were electric too. I think the only negative I had with this movie is the slow motion scenes, but even then, that doesn't take away from the fact that this movie was amazing

I could never get bored of watching this masterpiece

Okay, this movie is overly freaky 😭. On a real note, I thought it was a solid watch. I have not read the source material, so I went in open minded. The characters are definitely not good people, but the film does a decent job at showing how obsession can ruin lives. It’s not really something you root for, but something you more so watch as a tragedy. Also, the visuals and set design were amazing

The biggest takeaway for me is how, after all the trauma and time jumps, Chiron remains the same boy we saw in the beginning. He's just wearing a different 'mask' now. He does it because he knows that being his true authentic self would only get him bullied or betrayed. There’s a line in this movie that I believe best describes the movie, it goes “At some point, you gotta decide for yourself who you're going to be. Can't let nobody learn that for you”.
