Dancer in the DarkD9.6· May 18, 2025FollowI went into this film blindly and wow I wasn’t expecting any of this, easily one of the most depressing films I’ve seen. Selma comes to America to help her son have a better life and get the surgery he needs, she has to work hard but sadly as she loses her vision shes losing everything, her job, her musical, even her dignity as she now faces the hardship in such a raw way because everything is taken away, her life, her chance of a way out, because if she wants her son to not go through what shes been through this was her only way. And Bjork’s acting was just insane, her singing and the beat of the song was just brilliant and I loved it. The ending really hit me hard with her singing then she drops down with the loud sound just quiet no music playing anymore.
