Shoplifters
random film on your watchlist that looks like just entertainment at first but ends up making you question what separates right from wrong is it our actions consequences or intentions
yes they harm people and break the rules of society but they are not acting out of cruelty or enjoyment of harm there is no simple right answer you can pick and thats exactly what Shoplifters explores
this film shows how survival can push people beyond their moral boundaries and how poverty can shape your decisions in ways you never imagined
it follows a family whose life depends on shoplifting and odd jobs yet no matter how difficult their situation becomes there is still room for love care and protecting each other that contrast is what makes the film so powerful to me
the ending left me in silence even though they betray each other and everyone makes mistakes you can still see through their eyes that they care deeply about one another and that is what makes the story even more tragic
