Shutter Island
I think Shutter Island is a great film. This is because of the clever play with the POV's Martin Scorsese uses. The cameras are always turning, which enforces the feeling of vagueness you experience throughout the film. The music also does this, it creates a ominous atmosphere. The weather in the film also creates a certain tension. The setting for this film is also chosen delicately, the island is an amazing metaphor for Teddy's/Andrew's state of mind. He is trapped in what he believes is the truth. What I like about the plottwist is the fact that the plottwist isn't one single moment, but that it's stretched for like 10 minutes. During those ten minutes you are wondering who is actually right and you don't know who you're supposed to believe. I also think the ending was very good. Overall, great film
