Holy performances Why did Charlotte even have kids smh smh I've never really believed it, but this movie made me realize that an absent parent could be just as bad as a toxic one. My thought process was that like yk an absent parent is an "out of sight, out of mind" kind of thing. But with a toxic parent, the threat is right infront of you. You can't really deny their toxicity. Otherwise your bending backwards just to defend them. But w an absent parent, the effect is not as apparent. They end up becoming this "figure" that you idealize. But then your image of them just breaks and then there's this film of resentment that builds...
