One lived in a loving family, with a father who loved him, who tried to make sure that the world didn't reject him like it rejected his mother, and ended up being a FREAK. The second one lived in a horrible atmosphere where his father was always drinking and doing terrible things, but he became a man who really gives LOVE to others. These two people literally showed that you choose who you want to be, to repeat the fate of the one who hurt you or to go against him.
