Challengers

Again, I revert back to what I’m going to call my “Luca Guadagnino Thesis” which is that all his films (that I’ve seen so far) are largely about how love is “communication without speaking.” At the end, when Art and Patrick played their game of tennis, the most love that we see on display in the film is really between the two of them, right there, in that moment, as they are playing to the best of their abilities against one another. They share real love through the game, just like Tashi said at the beginning about her opponents.  Also, this movie is just wildly entertaining to watch and its pulse rarely drops.
