Smile

i was a victim of the reviews on this movie. i put off watching it for so long because everyone kept saying it was bad but genuinely, this was the first horror movie that actually made me scream at a jumpscare. that alone is already a huge plus for me because i don't scream, i usually just flinch. it's funny because i was anticipating it already, but the atmosphere building is so good and the tension is always so high that it got me sooo bad 😭 the movie starts off horrifying immediately and i think that's vital, setting the tone in a horror movie. the curse concept is definitely common but i think they did a good job at giving it an authentic spin, i feel like the story telling was great. there are a lot of similarities with truth or dare but i'm not gonna lie, the execution in smile is just miles better. i'm not a huge fan of gore because i'm a bit squeamish but they used it well here. i love this movie, i can't believe it took me two years to watch it just because i saw people say it was bad. the concept and trailers were kinda corny at first but bro... the movie itself is actually good. i love it, i've also watched the second one (i also loved it) and i'm really looking forward to what they'll do in the third movie. ++ i hate the fucking husband in this btw he's a pos everyone else in this movie was annoying but OOOUUUU u gaslighting son of a bitch...!!!!!!!
