I spent my whole childhood rewatching this. My mom says she knew every line from the movie at some point, and today we watched it together again. I did not remember much, I knew it was good, but THIS GOOD? THIS PERFECT?

Netflix cliché that i love??????

Watched this the proper way. IMAX, full attention, on premiere day, with one of my buddies. It is a great adaptation that is handled with such great care. The directors care about the film and it shows. All the technicality of it, the design, engineering and production were beyond amazing. I am a nerd so I really like the science and the details put into the story, but it is “dumbed down” for this adaptation (compared to the book). The only issue I have with it is the lack of impact on the writing, it never felt like the stakes were high. They didn’t give enough time to explain the impact of the sun dying and the importance of the mission, everything was very surface level. Lastly, Goslin is great, I doubt any other actor would have been as good as he is. Oh the cinematography. The colors, the lighting, the shots, they are excellent. PS. This movie is made in a way that will please the audience, even if it requires cutting off important/impactful moments of the story, that is my issue with it. A big blockbuster having a 4.4 on Letterboxd?????? This is unheard of, I really hope people go to the movie and watch it as intended!!!
