the found family trope will always be the death of me i stg. my fav performances came from brie larson, kaitlyn dever and lakeith stanfield. this is an oscar-worthy movie man like movies that are written and filmed realistically so much so that it almost feels like you’re watching documentary footage are my favorite kind of movies. It’s even better when the performances from the actors (when they’re not acting out extreme and dramatic scenes) come off so dry that it feels like you’re watching real people. even though the movie deals with very depressing topics, it is still so comforting because of its realistic style of filmmaking/writing; the actors’ performances and depictions of flawed humans are just the icing on the cake. I could yap on and on about how good these kinds of movies and style of filmmaking/writing are forever.
