One scene that really stood out to me was when he complains about getting robbed by the palm reader, saying she took her money just to tell her things that made her feel good. Later, while they're talking about it, she tells him that she doesn't like the way he's looking at the whole situation. Right after that, they meet a poet who offers to recite a poem and asks them to pay whatever they think it's worth after listening to the poem he thinks it was worth something and something can be awarded to that guy in exchange. This time, though, he doesn't feel like he's being robbed. Even though the situations are different on the surface, they're actually pretty similar. In both cases, they're paying someone who is trying to give them something meaningful through words. This contrast in perception is how the writer showcases his character, or expreses the underlying theme of the film
