Scarface
The acting in Scarface is so good. Al Pacino completely disappears into Tony Montana, delivering a performance that's loud and explosive. Every outburst feels earned because you can see the paranoia and ambition building throughout the film. Steven Bauer is excellent as Manny, bringing warmth and charisma that balances Tony's intensity, while Michelle Pfeiffer's cold, emotionally distant performance as Elvira perfectly captures a woman trapped in a life she no longer cares about.
Giorgio Moroder's soundtrack is just as iconic as the performances. The synth-heavy sound gives the film a strong 80s identity while somehow making every rise and fall feel larger than that it really is. Even decades later, the music feels inseparable from the film's identity, creating an atmosphere that's stylish and tragic.
