Scavengers Reign

“You’re doomed. Your brain is poisoned. Remember?” scavengers reign is a solid and scrumptious science fiction. i’m always going to be a sucker for speculative biology and the thought experiments it provokes. is there meaning in the indifference of life: its dreadful yet beautiful darwinism? no one will ever be certain. but can’t we get close to understanding? c’est la vie. that being said— the jarring similarities to Annihilation leave me to compare the two and I argue Annihilation is just better, more realized.  (still mad that the letterboxd average is so low for that movie).  Still though — for a small [hbo?] max orginal (seriously hbo what are we doing here with the names?) it is a standout and look how it’s been treated: with cancellation just like with Raised by Wolves. Science Fiction with soul is not appreciated enough and I hope people start to wake up and realize it’s one of the most important genres do not write it off y’all!! The intersection of science and art will always be a passion of mine and Scavenger’s Reign helped remind me of that.
