🔔: Paul Dano has acquired a new fan. I'm thinking I probably might have come across a cut version because this says 1hr, 37mins, the one I got my hands on was 1hr, 33mins. The things that blew me away the most was the acting and just how young the actors looked. I searched it up and Dano was about 17, if my maths is right, when this was released. And, you can tell because he just looks so, so young, and it makes it that much more of a harrowing and uncomfortable watch because the visuals are realistic. And, honestly, props to the creators and actor for the presentation of this predator in a not completely evil way. The way real life predators manage to pull these things off is by appearing charismatic or desirable to the victims, and whilst uncomfortable, having a predator who is presented as pure evil would feel out of place and too far removed for a film like this.
