SOPHY GODVARI … **It's time warp. ** ** **This has been one of my most anticipated watches this year and it did not disappoint nor did it let up on me. If you know me well you know just how fascinated I am by work that explores time, memory, identity, and grief. Sophy’s of which seems to always cut directly through to me. Oh we are so lucky to receive her gift. I think about how when we were younger, memory and time was often constructed or shaped *for* us for the longest time, how some of us experience the passage of time and paths of growth similarly to the herons. When reaching a full growth, when certain bonds begin to weaken and exchanges are less frequent, who is it we become and what do we take with us in memory? how do we even begin to access it? One of the things I’m quite moved by here is about questioning the preservation of memory vs. the actual experiences, remembering the feelings vs. the moments, and the idea of personal narrative becoming something fictionalized or entirely unexpected. I hold so much compassion and appreciation for her work—how firmly she stands in her curiosity for the things she's picking away at, how willing she is to just go *there* within it all. it's so beautiful and admirable !!! It’s so sweet on the desire to linger or close-in on the non-disruptive and the non-dramatic. Sometimes we remember more the pouring of the milk into the cereal, the placing of the sunscreen, peeling of the potatoes, or the giving of the keychain. I do think a Sophy Romvari + Mike Mills double feature would be absolutely relentless on me as I love so much of what they are in conversation with as artists but there’s such real humanity to it that I know I’d just be yearning to do it over and over again. Memories are all we have !!!!!

Did a Ludwig Göransson score double feature today and loved every second of it. Wore my Sinners shirt for this rewatch because you know my ass loves to make everything into an event <3

***Who doesn’t understand pain? Or blood? Or death? *** A Ludwig Göransson score once again so fucking good I can feel it in my chest, good shit good shit.
once again, and with a megaphone this time: my friends and I would’ve beat Bear with hammers I can tell you that much
