Can't believe it took me so long to watch this movie, specially given how much I like Le Fanu's works this is based upon. It transcribes the works with some of the most beautiful imagery I have seen on film, complemented by phenomenal acting and takes us through a surreal abstraction of life and the unavoidable pull of mortality. The visual POV within the coffin gives a genuine sense of claustrophobia in which struggle of the soul is in a state of limbo. The whole movie for that matter, already builds towards that in-between state feeling be it in its purposefully incoherent way of structuring the narrative flow and the dreamlike haze in which its mise en scène flows. I don't think I have anything else to add, it's perfect.
