this may be the only piece of media that i genuinely despise. as in i actively hate every part of it. i hate every single character in this show. i hate the plot of this show. it sounds interesting at first. that’s how they get you. but no. it’s just slop. they get off to it too. the characters. i hate them. the intros are probably the only semi-decent part of the show, but that’s only if you completely ignore the visuals. actually, it’s generous to say there even is a plot. there’s not. it’s just gambling. it’s almost fun at first. but then you watch roughly the same gamble every time. the stakes all go away because in the end something stupid is going to happen. i feel bad for the ryota guy but i also hate him too. they highkey just abuse him the whole show. the main character is genuinely the same person the whole time too. just some freaky gambler and also every side character in the show is just a gimmick. i may invent time travel just to stop myself from ever watching this. nothing ever actually happens either. i don’t care if that’s the point of the show or that i should’ve known what i was getting into when i started it. that doesn’t change the fact that this is garbage given digital form. sometimes i want to buy merch from this show just to destroy it but then i realize that that would just support this trash so i cant. the premise isn’t even all that interesting once all the hype of ‘haha me when i gamble’ goes away. they just vaguely gamble their lives away, which like they don’t even die just get some stupid life plan thing. all the stakes are basically nonexistent as well because you already know who’s going to win and it’s not because of luck it’s because of some stupid strategy that they haven’t used since the heian era or something. i’m not even sure what the themes of this show are besides just like ‘let’s gamble and get off’. the show genuinely has 0 reason to be as sexual as it is but yet it does it anyway and it makes the show 100000x worse than it already is. it doesn’t help that i watched this directly after one of my favorite shows of all time, link click, and at the same time the greatest show of all time was airing, to be hero x. overall this is some genuine garbage i didn’t even hit the italics button right there i think letterboxd did it just to emphasize how bad ts is. i will likely add more to this to more effectively hate in the future stay tuned. its been like 2 minutes but i feel as though i haven’t emphasized enough just how terrible this is. it was so bad that i genuinely felt physical and mental pain watching it. like i think watching genuinely affected me because of how much i hated the experience. every single character in this show pisses me off. if you’re a fan of this show then that’s wonderful for you but unfortunately your takes are trash and you need to understand that i will never ever look at you the same way. it may genuinely be a better experience watching that one ai slop reality tv show. also like why does this stupid gamble school even exist. this premise may even be more unrealistic than that more than a married couple slop. like what do you mean random rich kids go to this school and gamble and then either become really rich and powerful or just become a bum. that’s genuinely so stupid. why would that be a thing. also back to the gimmick character thing like they set up the student council as being super auraful and strong then they’re just the most surface level characters and shocker they all lose. they always lose. also the facial reactions in this show are genuinely so stupid. like that one kakegurui masho trend thing pmo because it’s from this straight trash and the whole thing is stupid. i’m going to keep talking about all the things i hate about this show until i eventually get tired or run out of things to say though i may just start repeating myself to get the message across. like back to the sexual thing. why is it like that. i get that some people like living life on the edge but gambling should never get you like that. actually nothing should get you acting like that. way too many of the characters are like that too. i can’t tell if it’s just fan service or if the writers are just genuinely freaky. anyway that’s prob all for today but again ill be back to hate more. i was wrong im back again its been like 5 minutes im just pissed because i KNOW that mappa overworked animators for this garbage. 3/31/26: I genuinely hate this absolute garbage so much that feel so bad for all the people who had to create this. like if i was surrounded by this trash and it was my whole job i would definitely quit. the people who were forced create this may genuinely have wills of steel because i would not be able to. in fact this show made me consider never gambling ever again. i can’t believe there’s a sequel show and a live action. who would ever ever ever think that it was a good idea to create that. i wish we could lose this media. ts made AI slop look like the greatest cinema of all time. genuinely it may be more employable to be subjected to chinese water torture. in fact im surprised they don’t use this show in interrogations because im certain everyone would instantly tell all of their secrets just to stop watching. even thinking about the fact that this show exists makes me just absolutely enraged because like why. no hate to anyone involved with this show but you made genuine trash and i hope god intervenes to make your next project something of value. that’s all for now. 7/9/26: Lil life update, i still hate this show. that’s all 7/30/26: re-remembered this exists so now i have to come back to say it sucks
