Dude the reason James Cameron did aliens is bc some exec was like “he’d make a great alien movie! Wait who’s Ridley Scott?” I mean he did but still Terminator is a just ok action movie imo This movie kinda has like no characters. Sarah and Reese are kinda boring and non people imo. Sarah especially she’s like just not a real person. She has 0 backstory and 0 character development. Ok well like there’s the tiniest tiniest amount but like it’s really not anything really. Also reese and Sara’s dynamic is pretty lame like a lot of exposition that comes out of them feels incredibly forced and like ok why did they do that? I won't spoil it but like ok do I care? Not rlly but it just doesn’t make any sense. It comes way outta left field and doesn’t do anything like at all for the plot. Theyre serviceable for an action film I suppose just not anything more than action figures to help getting from set piece a to set piece b. But here’s the thing, when this movie is dialed it is DIALED. All the action scenes are incredible really really great car chases like REALLY FUCKING GOOD! They’re so well directed and fun I couldn’t get over them. My fav is prob the first freeway one. So so cool. And like ion know I really enjoyed all of the set pieces a lot. The ending set piece was great I love how the terminator looks, the start was great, that truck and last car chase scene was nutso, and even that short police station set piece was cool! I think a lot of that kinda comes down to Arnold Schwarzenegger. I know he’s like iconic and this role has been like done to death w him but I mean he is one incredible stalker. So spooky in stature and small movements, and like he’s just so cold. Like he gets the whole unstoppable force combined with immovable object thing across really well. He’s really great! Yk what this might be the greatest movie that has 0 characters honestly. It really all comes down to James Cameron he just gets it when it comes to action. This one feels like playing re2 with Mr x in your ass

What is with Sidney lumet and broken air conditioning like damn bruh. Dog day afternoon is one cool movie for sure. I fw this one like a good amount. It’s just kind of a low stakes kinda small crime drama and one that I enjoyed. I mean like it’s frantic and I was shitting myself for a good while for the beginning and especially the end, it’s real great heist shit. But then like there’s about a 20-30 min section where nothing really goes on. And I just kinda think this one lacks a real character bite or edge. I mean I like Sonny he’s cool and all but he’s only really half a character yk. Ion know just kinda weird. It’s a hard movie to hate though honestly just bc it’s so cool. Like the scenes with the police and the back and forth of paranoia is quite interesting I thought. And I mean cmon that ending is really special. Having the crowd be watching was also pretty cool yk like they added a lot of panic just bc they were loud and obnoxious. Al Pacino really carries this movie on his shoulders. Without him this movie kinda falls apart at the seams. He’s so frantic yet like sympathetic which I thought was cool. Overall cool cool movie where ion rlly got all that much to say. Kinda like Fargo in a way. Except I fw the vibes in Fargo a lot more. This one feels like making a deal in monopoly.

Nicholas holt plays an arrogant manchild part 3 The favorite is one fascinating and wonderfully weird character drama for sure. I acc really enjoyed the writing here. The dialogue is dirty and mean and weird which was really cool to see for such a posh background yk. Like it’s an interesting twist for a character drama taking place in royal England would be like. I mean I also quite like the characters, abigail is one lead damn! She’s so conniving and forward thinking yet like a real human being behind the schemes which made for a real interesting character. And Sarah is a great foil of sorts to her and their back and forth twist on “the game” is very interesting. It’s a fun watch for sure just to see how everything evolves. However I do also did want more scheming like in my opinion it should’ve been far more of a back and forth like there’s a moment where things should’ve taken a step up in intensity but then it just doesn’t. I mean I get it and what they did was interesting as well, cool twist on the game but maybe just one more play in the game would’ve been great. Yorgos lanthimos god damn your style is really something! So posh with an odd and weird undertone so so cool to see. Also I love the way he frames his shots, so wide and grand in scale but there’s this bite to them where it just feels off yk. I love how the camera moves as well, so swingy and cool. The acting is quite incredible honestly. Emma stone is obviously great like duh. Nicholas holt is like cool I suppose I think he’s able to deliver the dirty and mean dialogue the best imo. Like he nails the posh bite I think this one has. But in my opinion Olivia Coleman is a real fucking standout. She’s able to be this baby with a lot of depth and energy like she really just makes the movie work imo. I quite like the favorite, shit this one makes me want to see what else yorgos can do bc it’s just such a unique style. But I think it couldve leaned into more of the comedy part of this character drama. This one feels like a really slow tug of war that ends in like one person passing out.
