There’s a semi-viral clip that pops up on my reels every so often of a 1998(?) interview of James Lipton with Spielberg. Lipton points out that Spielbergs dad was a computer scientist and his mother was a musician. James Lipton then says something like “When the spaceship lands in Close Encounters, the aliens communicate with music on their computers and that’s how they’re able to speak with each other.” Spielberg shows a ton of emotion after this and literally admits that he didn’t intend it. Nor does he realize it’s his parents until that moment in the interview. Makes me feel all the feels. Art is cool af imo
