Avengers: Infinity War

Infinity War has been my all time favourite Marvel film since it was released in 2018. Its storytelling is incredibly ambitious and I think it nails everything on the head. The movie is so fun and filled with so many things that I loved: Tony and Dr Strange bickering, Vision and Wanda’s relationship, Nomad!Steve Rogers and of course Thor’s epic entrance into battle. The direction to follow Thanos’ story was inspired - with the number of well established characters stories behind them how were the writers meant to choose the central focus of the film? They picked the villain. Josh Brolin is great as Thanos and undoubtedly Marvel’s best antagonist.  Gamora’s story is the heart of Infinity War and it still hits even knowing her unfortunate ending.  Wanda destroying the mind stone and sacrificing Vision only for Thanos to REVERSE time and pluck it out of his head remains to be one of the most devastating things I’ve watched.  The ending is the best part of the film. I remember sitting in the theatres feeling as though I’d been hit by a ton of bricks. It’s executed so well - pure silence as you watch everyone get dusted away.
