Superman

The Batman for superman but without the weak finale. Props for the trailers only being mostly scenes from the first third. Makes me truly hopeful for the future of DC, I think of they stay this consistent they will surpass marvel easily. It shouldn’t be but I feel it’s rare to have so much focus on saving people in a superhero movie, which is a nice aspect to return with this film. Everyone was great and loved the inclusion of characters who aren’t just Batman or Wonder Woman. There was a few scenes that were reminiscent of Guardians or Suicide Squad but they didn’t take away from this film’s individuality and I don’t mind because they were good films. I think the way they handled the opening was great and the fights were good. People have complained that superman is too weak but I think it’s more that the villains are equally strong which is awesome as it allows for fights with meaning. I also see people say it’s too bright and colourful but that’s what superman is, and I loved it, not all films need to be desaturated and wallow in self pity, especially a film where the lead is known as a beacon of hope. All the characters were nigh perfect, Mr Terrific stole any scene he was in and it was nice to have a villain fuelled by nothing but spite and hatred. This will probably be one of my favourite superhero films for as long as it takes for a green arrow film to be made.
