Longlegs
Probably my favourite horror movie that i watched this year (so far).
From the very beguinning Longlegs does an excellent job at setting up its disturbing atmosphere amplified by the soundtrack. We never leave this ambiance throughout the film which creates a feeling of oppression. So yeah i was hooked during the whole film.
At first i was a bit sceptical about the fact that the story is divided in three parts but eventually i think it was an interesting choice and it made Longlegs more dynamic i guess ?
I really enjoyed the way the film is playing with different ratios and i think it was used cleverly for the sake of the story.
Visually Longlegs is a film that is so pretty to look at thanks to the amazing shots and cinematography.
And last but not least the film is carried by phenomenal performances especially from Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage.
By the way Nicolas Cage did an excellent job at not making his character a caricature. Instead he is completly terryfing and has such a great screen presence. I loved the
fact that Longlegs does't rely on excessive gore to be scary or disturbing but on acting performances.
