Nightcrawler

I went into this film with very little knowledge about it and honestly I don't regret it. First and foremost Jake Gyllenhaal's acting is fantastic. He really captured the slow moral decline of his character even though we know that Lou Bloom is not a great man from the beginning. And his character truly got under my skin quite often during my viewing, it was sometimes unbearable. Rick was also a great contrast compared to Louis and an enjoyable character. The story could easily have felt repetitive and while once could argued that Louis simply goes to crime scenes, films them and sells the footage to the news, the film manages to add something new each time, something that makes the story progress, showing the main character becoming more extreme.
