X-Men: First Class
Such an enjoyable film honestly and a promising first film for the X men prelogy.
X men First Class does a great job at introducting its characters especially the ones that we already know from the previous trilogy. Obviously it means that we have a brand new casting and it's not a bad thing by any means. Among this new actors i would say that James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender are probably the best. They have big shoes to fill in portraying emblematic characters who were portrayed very well by Patick Stewart and Ian McKellen in the og trilogy. Luckily James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender manage very well and i can totally see them as a younger version of Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr.
X men First Class is a well paced film, yes there is multiple storylines but it never felt messy to me. All of them are coherent and never felt out of place and they are all linked together. That led to the ultimate third act which was for me the stronguest part of the film.
While i enjoyed the majority of the film, i still have a few complaints like the different romance subplots. I feel like the romances were not properly established and did not feel believable even forced at times but i guess it was to add more drama in the film so it's alright.
I would have like to see a bit more violence during the fight scenes but i understand that the film wanted to appeal to a wider audience.
