I love that despite working with a noticeably higher budget for this one he still made so much of the movie found footage and all of the spooky things are still 100% shiraishi. Like I can imagine kudo knocking that little bent head boy upside the head so vividly. Just a little too clean for me overall because I will almost always prefer a busted entirely found footage film but it’s still very enjoyable and I liked it a lot 👍🏼

rewatched earlier than i usually would because my moms catching up on all of the best picture nominees so i decided to watch this one with her. let me tell you i was under the impression that she was NOT fucking with it at all for 90% of the movie until it finished and she said yeah, unfortunately that was really good. literally exactly how i felt...sometimes when i watch a movie that i know is probably going to be good, and then conclude myself that it is in fact, good, it feels like i have lost chess to a dog. like fuckkk dude they got me again (the they in question being a genuinely good filmmaker) how could i be so weak as to like a movie when i am someone who likes movies.......anyways ultimately marty supreme is not something that was a smash hit for me on a personal level but there is nothing i love more than to feel so super energized by a movie and i felt it again, just as well as you could on a tv screen at least. to me this is the definition of a 4 star movie in a way that i can't properly put into words, i just know it innately lol. huge shocker for me to like an opn score but man i just like this one so much. its still hard to say who i'd personally give best actor to, i still haven't seen the secret agent (will soon) but i'm coming around to accepting that it would likely have to be timothee which also feels a lot like losing chess to a dog. why would you ever be good at your job

This movie is made for the “one of the movies of all time” title

Hmmmm Ethan hawke is really good here (obviously) but I feel like something was missing to really make me care and feel an emotional impact by the end 🤷🏻‍♀️ could be a personal issue seeing as how a lot of people seem really affected by it but still I feel like overall I just expected a littttttle bit more
