Since structured paragraphs aren't really my thing, I'm keeping this simple with a straight to the point list of pros and cons. To keep it safe for everyone, I’ve split this review into two clear parts: Spoiler-Free first, followed by a Full Spoilers section. Pros: + The movie deeply understands the character by stripping away the cosmic threats and Marvel's multiverse shenanigans to focus on the street-level, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man we actually love. Who would've thought that the best move was to tone things down. + Jon Bernthal was fantastic. I really liked the Punisher's dynamic with Peter. There were some genuinely funny moments thanks to him. He's easily the highlight of the movie for me. + I enjoyed seeing Michael Mando as the Scorpion despite his short screentime. I like Michael Mando. + There are some really cool action sequences especially the fight with the Hulk. + Some great first-person swinging moments. And good web swinging in general (I shouldn't be praising this as it's a given). + We get to see more of Peter and his struggles although it feels a bit forced (maybe because Tom Holland's acting is mediocre at best) + Fairly predictable but there are some genuinely unexpected moments that I enjoyed. + The antagonist's build-up, especially in the first half where we don't know much. + Heartwarming moment of the NYC celebrating their hero at the end + By far the best MCU Spider-Man film. Let's be real No Way Home was just low effort nostalgia bait. Cons: - It has the insufferable chick from Thunderbolts* I genuinely can not stand her. - Not much depth for me to care about these characters especially the antagonist whom I will talk about in the Spoilers section. - Pacing is off at some times it has a somewhat slow beginning. - Mid score. They've got a few good licensed songs but the actual soundtrack is generic as they come. - There really isn't anything that stays with you it isn't that special. Before I go into the spoilers I want to talk about my personal theather experience. - The theater auditorium smelled mildly like sweat. - The guy who sat next to me kept saying ''Ay Ay Ay'' everytime Spider-man hit a wall which I found hilarious. - Ovation at the end of the film. - Some guy put on a Spider-Man mask at the end and yelled something, and the whole room went wild. - Overall a super fun crowd experience. There will be spoilers beyond this point beware. SPOILER SECTION: - They put post credits at the very very end of the credits it's not really worth staying for. They show a transponder location of Spider-Man somewhere in space which is probably an important setup but I don't really care nor follow the MCU so I don't know. - It only says Spider-Man will return so maybe he's not in Doomsday and like I said I don't really care. - Jean Grey's (played by Sadie Sink) backstory feels so forced I wish they went deeper into it. It was just an exposition dump with generic sad music. Her telepathic/body-jacking arc feels somewhat crammed into a movie that is otherwise trying to be a street-level story. - They have to make a Hulk film or something because I feel like all he ever does in the MCU is to go rampant every once in a while and get his ass kicked. They are really underutilizing him. - Why didn't the damage control guy lie better is he stupid. - Damage Control guy is so generic this is as low effort as it gets. There is a telepath so an organization is doing live experiments they are very evil guys look, really original Marvel must've taken you a long time to write that one. - We see Tombstone briefly (or at least that's who I think he was) idk if it's just some cameo so the Marvel chuds point at the screen in awe or some sort of setup but I would love to see more Spider-Man villains in the future especially Mister Negative.

I legit stood up from joy upon the surprise Borat cameo. Wicked movie easily better than Harry Potter.
