Millennium Actress

What a breathtaking, hauntingly beautiful animated movie I’ve watched in a long time, and not just because of the story but how it’s animated. The scenes melt into eo, the flashbacks, memories, the characters’ roles changing.       To be in love with someone you only met for a brief moment, to chase the idea of that person, to yearn, to long, to hope, oh this movie reflects too much of me.       It was a little bit confusing for me to separate the characters’ imagination from reality. But I think that very blurring is what makes this movie even more dreamy.      The last 10 minutes broke me and stitched me right up by a single line “After all, it’s the chasing of him I really love”.
