A great expansion of the established lore of Kane Pixels’ established world in the YouTube series. I was legitimately terrified on my first watch and his use of tension is impeccable. The cinematography and shot compositions were spot on the whole time, creating an excellent sense of the characters being trapped and surrounded. The practical effects, both the set it self and the monster was really well realized. The plot was a really exploration of abuse and metal illness, along with themes of memory and trapping oneself. The climax of Clark’s speech was scary as hell, with Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve giving show-stopping performances combined with the aforementioned shots tying it all together. Scariest movie I’ve seen in a few months. Kind of struggles on a second watch, but most horror movies do as you know the scares.
