Interstellar
This is a perfect example of when complexity works. Nolan left me in awe and he truly crafted another amazing movie that leaves you questioning everything you know. Outside of Matthew Mcconaughey's stellar performance and Hans Zimmer’s amazing score, which already make this movie top tier, Nolan takes a theory or an idea in astro-physics and runs with it, where in a way it actually creates something that is believable, yet still out of reach, which is something all movies should strive to do. Not to mention that this movie has great emotional moments for being a space travel odyssey.
