Ran
Wow, I’m just in awe in regards to every aspect of this film. First thing that came to my mind how beautiful it is, it’s up there with Barry Lyndon. The cinematography, production design, and costume design is so phenomenal, truly like nothing I’ve ever seen. It’s has this surreal quality to that I can’t quite put my finger on, it’s just so vibrant and unique. For a film this beautiful, it does tell a really grim and devastating story, I mean that last scene is embedded in my brain. It starts fairly joyful and just overtime becomes more tragic and sad. It was really moving honestly. Seeing violence both part, present, and in a way future affect this family and the community around it was an extremely reflective experience.
